Junior’s Surrey cross-country League, Div 1, Match 1, Reigate Priory, 14 Oct 2017

With a combined Male/Female Division One fixture we were able to see all of our Junior athletes in one place for the first meeting of the 2017-18 season. Whilst conflicting sporting demands elsewhere (including the National ASA Championships) meant that we were missing many of our Juniors, we nevertheless saw first time performances from five of our team.

Timin, Striding Home

Competing over a dry and firm but very hilly Reigate Priory course we saw a strong run from Juliette Michot in the Junior Ladies races, moving up to the U15’s this season, placing 47th. In the Ladies U13’s both Chaiyla Norville-Whyms and first timer (and U11) Elizabeth Markaryan worked hard to finish 67th and 71st respectively. In the Mens Junior race our first placed athlete was Timin Kamini, coming home 6th U17 in 14.55, followed by Joseph O’Clery in 26th spot.

Running his first race for Belgrave was Luca Barac in 91st slot and 38th U15, two places ahead of Zayd Addicott.

We then saw both Sam Pound and Henry Shippey racing each other home  to finish in the same time of 17.54 in 105th and 106th places, 22nd and 23rd U13’s.

Our team was completed with first timers Oliver Destito, 149th (and 2nd U11) and Emmanuel Golshaie in 153rd place.

Keep Going Olivier
